CARF accreditation

CARF (the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) is an independent, non-profit organization that sets international standards for health and human services.

Accredited providers are reviewed by CARF surveyors, who visit in person, talk with the people served, their families and staff, and check day-to-day practice against those standards. CARF Canada is based in Edmonton, Alberta.

Placeholder: accreditation status. Before this site goes live, replace this box with Grewal Place’s actual status. For example, the year you were first accredited and when your current accreditation runs until, or that you are preparing for your first survey. Only show the CARF seal if you are currently accredited.

What accreditation means for the people we support

  • Their rights and choices are written into how we work, and checked by an outside reviewer.
  • They and their families are asked for feedback, and that feedback changes what we do.
  • Staff are trained, supervised and held to clear standards.
  • Health, safety and emergency plans are in place and practised.
  • We measure results and keep improving.

Code of ethics

Everyone who works at Grewal Place agrees to:

  • Treat each person with dignity, respect and kindness.
  • Protect people’s privacy and personal information.
  • Support people’s rights, including the right to make choices and to say no.
  • Never tolerate abuse, neglect or exploitation, and report any concern right away.
  • Avoid conflicts of interest and never accept gifts that could influence care.
  • Respond to complaints quickly and fairly, with no blame on the person who raised them.
